Production Blog: Music Video


Felisha and I wanted to film as soon as possible so we wouldn't have to worry about doing things at the last moment. We planned to film on Saturday, October 14, at 1:00 p.m. We planned to film at my house, so the night before, I made sure my room was clean and had enough space to film. I organized the top of my dresser and removed the photos from my mirror to ensure this. Although we decided to film early, we had a lot of delays that caused us a lot of stress. I woke up early Saturday morning. I brush my teeth and take a shower to prepare for my day. Felisha told me she had a basketball game that morning and asked if it would be okay to shower and change at my house.

After her game, my brother and I went to pick her up. After this, we went to buy props for the music video. We first stopped by Target to look for the film for the Polaroid camera, but we couldn't find any. We then decided to see if Walmart had any. While going to Walmart, Felisha and I realized how tired we were and planned to nap before the actors arrived. When we made it to Walmart, we found the film and purchased it. We then had plans to go to Publix to buy the flowers and something to eat. Before we arrived at Walmart, I asked my brother to call his friend so he could get ready since we had to pick him up. We called him so many times and never got an answer. When we left Publix, I told my brother to call someone else to see if they would help us. He called about five people, and they said they were busy or didn't want to do it. By this time, 2 of the actors were on their way to my house. When we got home, Felisha ate while I was worried about who would replace him. Llia arrived, and Chatae told me that she was running late. Felisha called David to see if he went to work since the homecoming got canceled, but unfortunately, he was working. Finally, Avione (The main character's crush) called us back, saying he woke up late and would get ready now. The other actor never called back, but Avione brought his little brother. Once they arrived, we began filming.

 After we finished filming the outdoor scenes, we filmed the indoor 0scenes. The majority of these scenes involved only the main character. The first indoor scene was scene four. Scene four was the main character opening the room door and putting the picture in the mirror. For this scene, we used a tracking shot to show her coming in and placing the image on the mirror. This concluded what was supposed to be the first 24 seconds of the song. After this, we filmed scene ten. Scene ten was the main character laying on the bed and then getting up to look out the window. for this scene, we needed it to be dark but not too dark to the point the camera quality changes, or she can't be seen. We used a ring light to add enough light so the scene wouldn't come out too dark, and we closed the blinds so it wouldn't be too bright. Production Blog- Editing

 Hello, today in this blog I will discuss how I finished the editing my music video. As I mentioned in my previous blog, the video from CapCut was very choppy and glitchy. I didn’t want to deal with it so I switched to a different editing platform. I looked on TikTok for good editing platforms for computer. I kept seeing Wondershare Filmora, so that’s what I downloaded. Once it finished downloading I did the same thing I did in CapCut. On the app I added all the clips I timed so I can access it easier. I dragged the song to the video and trimmed it to be 1:15. I drag the vidro clips to match the song. I used the video from CapCut as a reference to how to the video should look. Something I like about the sofeware is that I can preview the video clips on a bigger screen so I didn’t have to constantly drag and delete.This took me a little while to get used to. Production Blog: Filming Part 3

 After the gift opening scene the doorbell ring and the next scene is the friends looking at the camera. I had a perfume box that was decorated, so we put the note in there to put it outside.  Earlier before we stared filming i put the box outside and someone moved it.  I went outside to look for the box and I couldn’t find it. I asked everybody if they moved it and where did they put it. Since nobody couldn’t tell me where the box was I had to check the camera. I’m glad the camera recorded who did it. I had to scroll about an hour back to see Felisha moved it into the bushes so it wouldn’t be seen in the first scene. Once we had the box in place everyone gathered around the google Home Screen and said their lines. Nobody practiced their lines except for Christel so there was a little improvising to save time.
