Production blog: re-editing

Hey blog, today I will be talking about how I re-edited my final task. Before I started editing I had to looked through all the scenes I filmed. When I found the scenes I wanted to use I favorited them and imported it the the filmora app for easy access. The first thing I did was add my establishing shot. I had 3 pieces to it, but I only used two of them, because the third one didn’t fit well. I had to move the typing sound to its correct place and had to move the music so it started at right time. I was on the phone with my brother while filming the establishing scene, so I had to adjust the sound of the original video. The crickets I had to the silence was still there but was muted. I still removed it so it would not confuse me either the other sounds on there. I adjusted the music for the beginning to be quieter since people were saying they couldn’t hear the actors. For each scene I scene to adjust the sound to be louder. The next thing I had to do was adjust where the suspenseful

Production blog: Reshoot

Image
Hey blog, today I will be talking about the scenes we re filmed and added. Once we realized we needed to reshoot some scenes I made a group chat with everyone to contact them easier. We had to shoot soon since our due date was coming up. The day we chose was Saturday, March 9. I sent the film in the group chat and reminded everyone to wear the same clothing they had. Saturday morning I had to prepare my house to film. I cleaned my whole house, blew up balloons, organized everything. I wanted to reshoot the scene of Christel opening the present, but I didn’t have anymore wrapping paper. I went to 2 dollar trees and Micheal’s but I couldn’t find it since it was Christmas theme. I had a small box that acted as a prop for the film, carefully unwrapped it, and wrapped one half of the shoe box.  We told the actors to arrive around 4 since last time they came to late. Unfortunately Lynn wasn’t able to come, but we had to make it work. We still ended up starting at 6 since we needed the sun t

Film Review

While Felisha and I were editing we realized there was some things that need to changed. I made a group chat that included all of our actors and sent them the video.  In the film they said they didn’t like the acting. They said the acting sounds robotic and forced in a few scenes.  Another thing they said the music was too loud.  In some scenes you couldn’t hear the actors but could hear the music. Some of the scenes lacked emotion. In the last scene and the scene where Christel was opening the box the acting was dull. Kieron was talking too mush during filming. It wasn’t only him but he was the main one, when I was filming a scene that involved one person everyone would be talking loud. Another criticism was that it seemed rushed.  We only had two minuted for the film and wanted to fit our ideas into the 2 minute time frame. Another thing was that some of the scenes were dragged out and too long which caused us to try to shorten other scenes. To add to this I was told I should add mo

Finding Music

Image
Hello blog, today i will talk about how i picked the song for my blog. I first went on YouTube and searched up upbeat non copyright music. I looked through a few videos but they weren’t the style we wanted. I then searched up “ non copyright music” I found a video that had many options but they didn’t fit the video. The next thing I looked up was “old upbeat music no copyright”  The video i clicked on the music wasn’t bad but when I looked at the comments i realized we would need to pay for a license even if its royalty free. The prices ranged from $50 to $200 which would be way too much. I look trough so many playlist and song to constantly be disappointed with my song options. The next day while i was editing with Felisha we looked for songs. I searched up no copyright music followed by different genres. It took a while to find the song, we were looking through different playlist and different channels. We came across “PSiMiTAR” a channel that has a variety of music that was not cop

Editing my final task

Today we first started looking at different effects to add to our film.  W e were looking for places to incorporate non-diegetic sounds.  I saw the app had an AI sound-generating option so I put iPhone typing noises, but none they sounded like a keyboard.  I decided to record it myself, so I screen recorded myself typing to match Christel typing.  Once I had my video I was able to export it into the app extract the sound.  I trimmed it and moved it to match with the video We wanted to add a cricket sound to the film, so we began looking for sound effects within the Flimora app.   We found one that we thought sounded good, but when i added it it didn’t sound right.  I the went on YouTube to find the cricket sound, when i found the one i like i saved it and added it to the video.  We went on YouTube and searched for no copyrighted music.   It took us a while to find the song we liked.  We searched many different gendered of music with no copyright but none of them matched the film.  We
