production blog: Music video- Editing

Hello, and in this blog, I will discuss how I edited my music video. I decided to edit the music video on my laptop because it would be more efficient. The first thing I did was plug my phone into my computer to transfer all the footage. I had to wait until my laptop uploaded all the photos and videos from my phone, and then I could choose which videos I wanted to include. I uploaded all the takes onto my computer and placed them in a folder so I could find them more accessible. After this, I downloaded the song and added it to the folder. I searched capcut to see how different it is from using it on the phone. I decided to use Cap Cut to edit the video, but I switched to the editing platform. capcut was simple to use, but it didn't produce the best video.

To begin, I put the song on CapCut. I then looked through all the videos one scene at a time to find the best one. Once I found the best one, I added it to CapCut. I did this to each scene to get an idea of how the music video looks and how it fits. For each scene, I had to move it and shorten it to match the song. For the first 20 seconds of the song, we planned that each scene would be about 5 seconds. I added the extra scene we filmed to the video because I believe it's creative and overall a great idea(idea by Leila). Since it wasn't a part of the first 20 seconds, I had to shorten the other scenes so it could remain in the 20-minute time frame. I added all the scenes, and the only trouble I had was the flashback part because I didn't know what to flashback on. Looking back, I should've filmed a specific scene for the flashback. This was when I realized CapCut wouldn't work for this video. I FaceTimed Felisha to show her what the video is meant to look like. While watching the video, it was glitchy and choppy. Nothing I did fix could that. The next day, I showed what the video would like to Chatae, and it was still very glitchy.
